Rancilio has two espresso machines for home-use: the Rancilio Silvia and Rancilio Silvia Pro X. For both machines, you can use our 58.5mm barista tools.

That’s because Rancilio machines belong to the E61 category, espresso machines with a brew group of around 58mm in diameter. This category also includes brands like La Marzocco, Rocket, Bellezza and ECM.

That means you can complete your Rancilio Silvia or Silvia Pro X setup with our 58.5mm barista tools.

Rancilio standard sizes

Rancilio home espresso machines use a 58mm brew group. For this, we offer every barista tool and accessory you can imagine.

These tools range from a classic tamper (which most machines include) to more niche gadgets like a dosing ring or a puck screen.

Make sure to choose the 58.5mm size, carefully designed for E61 machines.
Of course, we also offer universal barista accessories, like a tamping mat or a knock box for your coffee corner.

Just because these tools aren’t machine-specific doesn't mean they won’t make your home barista life a whole lot easier. 😉

The WDT tool is also a universal accessory that improves your coffee by breaking up clumps in freshly ground beans before distributing and tamping.

Types of Rancilio machines

Rancilio makes espresso machines for café and home use. Within the home category, they offer two models:

Rancilio Silvia

With the standard Rancilio Silvia, you can brew café-quality espresso at home. It has a single boiler and a 58mm brew group, so you can use our 58.5mm barista tools, like a tamper or a coffee distributor.

But if you’re looking for a portafilter, be careful: our portafilters don’t fit every version of the Silvia.

Here’s how it works:

• Rancilio Silvia V1 fits
• Rancilio Silvia V2  fits
• Rancilio Silvia V3  fits
• Rancilio Silvia V4  does not fit
• Rancilio Silvia V5  does not fit
• Rancilio Silvia V6  does not fit

Not sure which version you have? Check your manual or the sticker on the bottom/back of your machine. It usually shows the serial number.

Rancilio Silvia Pro X

The Rancilio Silvia Pro X is the premium version of the Silvia. It features a dual boiler, so you can pull multiple espresso shots in a row without compromising on taste.

Of course, it also uses an E61 brew group, the standard for higher-end machines.
This means you can easily use our 58.5mm barista tools here too.

If you want to upgrade your portafilter, you’ll also find the right one with us. This goes for bottomless portafilters too, for which you can select the 58mm (E61) size.

A bottomless portafilter is a fun upgrade for your barista setup: it gives you beautiful extraction shots and shows exactly what’s happening inside your filter basket.

If you’re dealing with channeling or uneven flow, a bottomless portafilter will show it immediately.

Get the most out of your Rancilio machine

A Rancilio already comes with a high-quality tamper, portafilter and two filter baskets. So upgrading these first isn’t always necessary.

Most people start by expanding their barista tool collection. The most popular first upgrades are a coffee distributor, dosing ring or WDT tool.

These help you create a more even puck before tamping, improving consistency, which you’ll absolutely taste.

Keeping your Rancilio Silvia clean is also key. Old coffee oils or limescale can impact your flavour if left too long.
