When you buy an espresso machine or a tamper, you usually don’t get a tamping mat included. When I (Jasper) first got my machine, that meant tamping directly on my countertop.
The result? Unevenly tamped (sour) coffee, scratches on my work surface, and a whole lot of mess.
That had to change. So we at Barista-Essentials started looking for a solution. We found plenty of tamping mats in the strangest shapes, often with designated spaces for your tamper (as if you don’t have other barista tools).
We decided to design a coffee tamper mat that gets back to the basics: a solid, non-slip, easy-to-clean tamping mat. And that’s exactly what you’re looking at now.
