The SCA conducts extensive tests, examining every aspect of a coffee variety: from the moisture content of the unroasted bean to the aftertaste of the espresso. Only coffee beans that score at least 80 out of 100 points receive the specialty coffee label.
This means that specialty coffee beans are recognized as the very best beans you can get. And you can taste the difference, compared to other kinds of coffee beans.
