Banish doubt with a spring loaded tamper
Most espresso machines come with a tamper. But not all of them are worth using.
With both my DeLonghi and my Barista Express, I (Jasper) got a lightweight tamper with plastic parts that never felt right in the hand.
A classic tamper is already a big step up, but for home baristas who want full control, we now have a calibrated, spring-loaded coffee tamper.
This spring loaded tamper gives a click at 12 kilos of pressure, so you’ll never again have to wonder whether you tamped as firmly as you did last time.
And with 12 kilos, you’re always in the sweet spot, since proper tamping means applying between 10 and 15 kilos of pressure.
This spring-loaded tamper does the thinking, and you bring the power. 💪
About this calibrated tamper
At Barista-Essentials, we design many of our barista tools ourselves. This also applies to our (calibrated) spring loaded tamper.
After a long development phase, we’re proud to present this spring-loaded coffee tamper, inspired by the iconic Force Tamper.
Some technical features of this calibrated tamper:
- Calibrated at 12 kg with internal spring mechanism
- Gives a satisfying click at 12 kg
- Always tamp straight by resting it on the edge of your portafilter
- Stainless steel tamping base
- Rippled base looks great and can help with an even flow
