DeLonghi Accessories for Home Barista's
If you say starting out as a home barista, you (often) say DeLonghi coffee machine.
With the right tools and a bit of know-how, you can make a great cup of coffee using your DeLonghi espresso machine.
Below, you’ll find an overview of the most popular DeLonghi machines that our barista tools work to complement.
This way, you’ll know exactly which tools you need for your DeLonghi Dedica, La Specialista, or Icona Vintage.
DeLonghi coffee machines
DeLonghi is a well-known Italian espresso machine brand with a long history. Since 1902, they’ve been making household and kitchen products like radiators and air conditioners.
It wasn’t until a century later, in 2003, that they made their mark in the home barista world with the launch of the DeLonghi Magnifica S, the first fully automatic espresso machine.
The Magnifica is still one of DeLonghi’s most popular coffee machines, taking care of the entire coffee making process for you.
Since it’s a fully automatic machine, you don’t actually need any barista tools to use the DeLonghi Magnifica S. (Although our barista cups are still a stylish addition, of course…)
In addition, DeLonghi also offers compact manual espresso machines for home use, like the Dedica, La Specialista, and Icona Vintage. For all of these, we offer the right barista tools and accessories to help you improve your espresso at home.

DeLonghi espressomachine
DeLonghi Dedica
Size: 51mm
The DeLonghi Dedica is an affordable and popular manual espresso machine for home use, known for its iconic, slim design.
The DeLonghi Dedica portafilter size is relatively small: 51mm.
Compared to Sage espresso machines and classic E61 machines, DeLonghi actually has the smallest brew group we make barista tools for. (Though not the smallest on the market: some machines use a 49mm version.)
For your DeLonghi Dedica, you can use our 51mm tools, either as an addition to your setup or as an upgrade to the standard accessories that come with the machine.
Take the tamper, for example. Our tampers feature an ergonomically curved handle and a solid stainless steel base to help you tamp evenly and apply consistent pressure. That’s a big step up from that plastic DeLonghi tamper/scoop combo.

We also offer a great upgrade for the DeLonghi Dedica portafilter: our 51mm double spout portafilter. It features two defined spouts and no plastic inserts, unlike the standard DeLonghi portafilter.
A portafilter without plastic parts has the advantage of not trappig coffee residue inside That means better-tasting coffee and less hassle when cleaning.
DeLonghi La Specialista
Size : 51mm
DeLonghi La Specialista machines are less compact than the Dedica, but for good reason: they come with a built-in grinder.
To make real barista-style coffee at home, you need freshly roasted beans, and the La Specialista makes that much easier. You won’t need to buy a separate grinder for your setup.
The La Specialista also features a built-in tamper, which makes it somewhat similar to the Sage Barista Impress.
But there’s one key difference: the DeLonghi La Specialista has a 51mm brew group.

Since the La Specialista tamps for you, it’s smarter to focus on tools that complement this feature, rather than upgrade your tamper and do it manually.
One of them is the 51mm puck screen. You place it on top of your coffee puck after tamping. During extraction, it helps distribute the water evenly.
Another useful tool is a coffee distributor or espresso leveler (also in 51mm size). This ensures the coffee grounds are evenly spread in your portafilter before they are tamped.
Please note: we do not offer a compatible double spout portafilter for the DeLonghi La Specialista.
DeLonghi Icona Vintage
Size: 51mm
The DeLonghi Icona Vintage has a retro look and comes in five different colors, ranging from beige to sky blue. This makes the Icona Vintage a stylish addition to your coffee corner.
Like the Dedica and La Specialista, the Icona Vintage has a 51mm brew group.
For the Icona Vintage, we recommend using a proper 51mm tamper, as this machine also comes with the standard plastic scoop/tamper combo.
Please note: we do not offer a compatible double spout portafilter for the DeLonghi Icona Vintage
Our favourite DeLonghi accessories
If you’re using a DeLonghi espresso machine, it’s a good start to make sure you have all the basic tools at home. That means: a proper tamper, a coffee scale, and freshly roasted coffee beans.
That’s because DeLonghi piston machines don’t weigh or time your shots for you.
If you own a DeLonghi Dedica, we definitely recommend upgrading your portafilter as well. Ideally, choose one with a solid stainless steel head and no plastic parts inside.
Please note: our double spout portafilter is not compatible with the La Specialista or Icona Vintage. However, we do offer bottomless portafilters for these DeLonghi espresso machines.
DeLonghi bottomless portafilters
We offer 51mm bottomless portafilters that are compatible with your DeLonghi machine.
A bottomless portafilter helps you instantly spot any issues with your puck prep, as you can see the extraction directly from the basket.
And if everything goes well? You’ll capture the most beautiful espresso shots with it.
Just make sure to choose the right size. Here’s what you can pick from:
51mm (Dedica): All DeLonghi Dedica models except the Maestro Plus, SMEG ECF01, and ECF02.
51mm (Icona Vintage): DeLonghi Icona Vintage.
51mm (La Specialista): DeLonghi La Specialista Prestigio, Arte, Maestro, and the De’Longhi Dedica Maestro Plus.

Cleaning and maintenance
In addition to using the right tools and fresh coffee, it’s also important to keep your DeLonghi espresso machine clean, as limescale and coffee residue can seriously affect the taste of your espresso.
You should descale your DeLonghi at least once every 3 months. Be sure to use an espresso machine descaler.
We also recommend using a good water filter. We offer a DeLonghi water filter that fits perfectly into your machine’s reservoir.
Our DeLonghi water filter clicks easily into place and keeps your machine limescale-free for up to 2 months.
Note: This filter is not compatible with the Icona Vintage. For that model, we recommend our water filter pouch instead.
