This barista-essentials WDT tool is designed by us with home baristas in mind. A compact tool that works.
Most coffee grinders, including the built-in ones, tend to dispense a lot of clumps that form naturally due to the oils in coffee.
Using the WDT technique to de-clump and fluff up the coffee bed prior to tamping, has proven to reduce channeling and improve your extraction.
Our WDT tool is perfect for this job. Made from durable aluminium with fine needles that allow you to break through clumps by stirring.

Are you struggling to get that perfect extraction? A WDT tool may be the answer to your problems.
The WDT technique (Weiss Distribution Technique) has become popular in the last 1-2 years as a simple method to de-clump and even out the density of coffee within your puck. The result is less channeling and more even extractions.
After grinding your coffee pick up our WDT tool (also known as a needle distributor) and stir through the coffee. This creates a fluffy and evenly distributed coffee bed all throughout your portafilter.
For a perfect finish, you can use a coffee distributor to create a perfectly leveled surface before tamping. Using a tamper you can now create the perfect coffee puck for the best espresso.
Technical details
Our custom design is compact to fit in every home barista set-up. Made from aluminum the tool is lightweight but high quality that will last a lifetime.
Our four needles are evenly spread out to prevent clumping in between the needles.
The needles are thin enough to distribute your coffee evenly but not sharp like the acupuncture needles they use in most WDT tools. This saves you a lot of painful moments.
The top can be screwed off might any needles need to be replaced.
