The standard portafilter that comes with your espresso machine is usually not the best quality and quickly needs replacement, or they can cause an unpleasant aftertaste due to the plastic inlay. Our 100% stainless steel portafilter head is wear-resistant and retains heat well, resulting in a better espresso.

Good to know about your portafilter
- Easy to use: use the portafilter just like you are used to! Be sure to use enough coffee for your new 18-gram filter basket 😉
- Cleaning: occasionally clean your filter basket and the inside of your portafilter with Espresso Machine Cleaning Powder to keep your espresso tasting great
- Interchangeable handle: if you ever get tired of your handle, you can easily replace it!

Use the right portafilter for your espresso machine
At Barista-Essentials, we want everyone to make delicious coffee at home. That’s why we have barista tools, like the portafilter, for many different espresso machines. It is important to choose the right size; so below are the most common espresso machines.
51mm portafilter
The 51mm size is mainly suitable as a Delonghi portafilter, but it also fits several other espresso machines!
- 51mm (Delonghi Dedica): Delonghi Dedica, Smeg ECF01, Smeg ECF02
54mm portafilter
Our 54mm portafilter is known as the Sage portafilter or Breville portafilter but be careful! There are several Sage espresso machines that use a different size like 58mm. For those, we currently only have the bottomless portafilter available.
- 54mm: Sage Barista Express, Sage Barista Pro, Sage Barista Touch, Sage Bambino Plus, Sage Duo Temp Pro, Brevillle Barista Express, Breville Barista Touch
58mm portafilter
The 58mm portafilter is specifically designed as an E61 portafilter. Therefore, it fits all espresso machines with an E61 group head.
- 58mm (E61): La Marzocco, ECM, Lelit, Profitec, Flair 58, Rancilio, Rocket espresso, Vibiemme, Ascaso and Quickmill*
*This portafilter is suitable as a Quickmill portafilter (Quickmill piston) but not for Quickmill models with “three wings” like the 820, 3000, 3004!
