I (Jasper) love using my Sage Barista Express to make coffee at home. But let’s be honest, some of the included Sage tools just don’t cut it.
The plastic tamper especially… too light, awkward to grip, and hard to tamp straight consistently.
That frustration pushed us to develop our own 53mm tamper for Sage, Solis, and Breville machines.
Perfectly sized for 54mm portafilters, and designed to help you make delicious espresso again and again.
The 53.3mm tamper, designed for you
We’ve tested just about every tamper out there and brought all the best parts together in this Barista Essentials 53mm tamper.
Tech specs:
- Solid stainless steel tamping base
- Handle in rosewood, stainless steel, or plastic
- Weight: 390g (wooden handle) or 579g (stainless steel handle)
- 53.3mm base diameter for a snug fit in your 54mm filter basket
Pro tip: good tamping needs a solid surface. Take a look at our tamping mats or tamping stations.
