A tamper as a solid Foundation
A tamper is a basic tool no home barista can do without. When I (Hugo) worked in cafés, I quickly learned that a good tamper can make or break your espresso.
If a tamper is not well balanced or does not fit into your filter basket properly, tamping unevenly or with the wrong pressure becomes much easier than it should be.
Thus began our search for the ideal tamper, as we experienced for ourselves what a difference a cleverly designed tamper makes in for your puck prep and the taste of your espresso.
The result is this classic tamper you’re looking at now: with ergonomic handle (available in 3 types) and solid stainless steel tamping surface.
A True Barista Essential
After a long development process, we present to you this classic tamper, reduced to the Barista-Essentials. No unnecessary bells and whistles, just a well thought out tool you can rely on and won’t need to replace anytime soon.

The right tamper for your espresso machine
A tamper that fits seamlessly to your portafilter makes tamping much easier. Here’s how you pick the right size tamper:
Choose the 58mm tamper when using a Quik Mill.
Choose our 58.5mm tamper for other 58mm espresso machines such as E61 machines, ECM, VBM (Vibiemme), Rocket, Rancilio, La Marzocco, Sage the Oracle, Gaggia.
We also have tampers available in other sizes. Use the 51mm tamper for DeLonghi machines and the 53.3mm tamper if you have a Sage or Solis.
