When Hugo and I (Jasper) first tasted these beans, we immediately knew: this is one of our absolute favorites! It reminded me of the rich, creamy coffee you drink at a café – full of flavor and beautifully sweet. A coffee you can enjoy every day without ever getting bored.
These beans are truly an all-rounder! Delicious as an espresso, but also strong enough for a cappuccino. In a latte, the flavor takes a bit of a backseat due to the milk, but it still remains absolutely present. Try these beans with our pink/terracotta cup – the pink tones bring out the sweet notes in your latte even more!
Brewing Tips Cuba
Our basic advice is always 18.5 grams of ground coffee, with a brew time of 25 seconds for 36/37 grams of espresso. From this base, you can experiment to match your taste!
Here’s how we came to this brewing recommendation for our Cuba beans:
- 18.7 grams of coffee
- 22–28 seconds brew time
- 44 grams of espresso

All our coffee is officially Specialty Coffee, including our Cuba beans. The Specialty Coffee Association awards this certification only to coffee that scores 80 points or more on a 100-point scale based on quality and flavor!
These Cuban beans are grown in the Sierra Maestra mountain range, at altitudes between 1000m and 2000m. This is quite low, which gives these beans a relatively low acidity.
